Welcome to The Lazy Dog Villa
The Villa
The Lazy Dog Villa is located at the south end of Bali’s most exclusive district, Sanur. The villa is situated right in the middle of all Sanur’s popular attractions, but comfortably set back off the main street in a complex, which consists of only four exclusive and uniquely designed villas. The luxurious complex has a main entrance gate, which is manned 24 hours per day by well-trained and attentive security staff, making it a very quiet and secluded area. The private driveway consists of blocks, which feature local leaf design and each block is unique, within this driveway there is ample room for parking whether it be a car, motorcycle or bicycle.

The entrance to the magnificent villa is through a custom built (oversized) solid teak door carved with unique Balinese designs, Once inside the front door it becomes obvious that the villa has been built to the highest of western standards, yet it still retains the Balinese ornate architecture and feel. The complete area of the villa covers approximately 420 square metres and consists of a very large open living area and two large bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. A further bedroom is located in a purpose built cottage set slightly away from the main building. The cottage also has its own en-suite bathroom. There are elegant terrazzo floors throughout the villa and high Balinese style ceilings that are finished with elegantly sculpted bamboo. For more details please click on accommodation. Within the garden area, which is landscaped with local trees and plants, there is a 9-metre kidney shaped pool, with areas for sunbathing or just relaxing in the shade on sun beds or “chill-out” mats.

The boundary walls are 2.15-2.60 metres high to provide maximum privacy, but are curved in design, which avoids that ‘boxed-in feeling’.

For those who want to partake in the beach activities; only a ten-minute walk away (or a couple of minutes away by bicycle) you will find a beautiful white sandy beach leading to the crystal clear ocean. If you are feeling too relaxed to cook or wish to taste the local culinary arts or you feel like a cool drink, just walk out onto Sanur’s main street and there are many good restaurants and cafes to chose from serving a range of high quality food from local and international menus – all at very reasonable prices.

Living Area
This large open area is arguably the most impressive space in the villa. It consists of the kitchen area, the living area and the dining area where four large ceiling fans are fitted to ensure that you are kept cool on the hottest day. The quality kitchen area is fitted with teak cabinets and a marble topped work area including a good size breakfast bar. It is equipped with a four-burner stove complete with oven, large refrigerator, microwave, rice cooker, electric kettle, toaster and with quality kitchen equipment, dishes, tableware glassware and cutlery to serve at least eight people. It ensures that even if you have a large family or you are entertaining you have all the things you will need. In the living area is custom-made Balinese furniture so that you are comfortable to sit and watch Satellite TV on the wide-screen TV, or watch a movie or just listen to music or just snooze after a hectic day in the sun. At the front of the living area looking over the swimming pool is the large dinning table, which can seat at least eight people where you can enjoy the morning view as you eat your breakfast or have a quiet evening dinner look over the floodlit pool and garden. The open living area gives the effect of the pool and the garden become part of the living space. To the left and right of the living areas are two covered verandas where you can sit and relax in the shade in the hottest part of the day.

Swimming Pool
Just down two steps from the living area you are into the 9-metre kidney shaped pool. So if you feel like swimming when you wake just open your door from all bedrooms and down two steps and you are poolside. This pool is 1.25 meters deep at one end and 1.55 meters deep at the other end with two ‘Lazy Dog’ shaped water fountains which can be turned off if you want complete silence as you relax in the garden around the pool or in the shade on the three patios.

Sanur Bali

Sanur Bali

Sanur Bali is a coastal stretch of beach of Denpasar city of southeast Bali, about 30 minutes drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport, which has grown into a little town in its own right. A 5.1 kilometers of the Sanur’s coastline from Matahari Terbit Beach to Mertasari Beach has been ready reclaimed in 2008.

The northern part of Sanur beach was used as the landing site for the Dutch invasion troops during the Dutch intervention in Bali (1906). During World War II, Sanur was again the entry point through which the Japanese forces landed to occupy the island of Bali.

Traditional fishing boats can be seen on the beach of Sanur offering a scenic view of the island Nusa Penida.

Adrien Jean Le Mayeur de Merpes (1880-1958), a Belgian painter, lived in Sanur from 1932 – 1958. His house was transformed into a museum, Museum Le Mayeur, where about 80 of his most important paintings are exhibited. Bali Orchid Garden, a park about 3 km north of Sanur is worth a visit as well.

Another interesting sight can be visited in the south of Sanur in Jalan Danau Poso Street beside Pura Belangjong, a small Hindu temple. A stone column measuring 1.77 metres can be seen under a roof at the end of a small and short blind alley. This is the oldest object produced by men on Bali. The column bears inscriptions dating from the 9th century written in Sanskrit and in a very old form of Balinese. Various objects made of stone possibly dating from the same period are exhibited as well.
